Additional Conference Features
The Global Management Conference also includes additional features that are unique to this event. For example, the winner of the DMTF-sponsored Academic Alliance paper competition, Leonidas Lymberopoulos, of Imperial College in London, will present his winning paper - Using CIM to Realize Policy Validation within the Ponder Framework - on Tuesday morning.
On Monday, the DMTF will host its Fusion testing event, where pre-registered DMTF companies come together in a closed door, private environment to test implementations of the CIM Schema and WBEM. Fusion is a free-form exchange of information and ideas, and though there is no publicity or information made available to the public about the companies that participate in the event or the results of the testing, Fusion brings us closer to real-world interoperability in a distributed management environment. If you have questions about the Fusion event or would like to participate, please send email to wg-fusion@dmtf.org.
In another special event, the informative Product Showcase will be held Tuesday night, giving attendees the opportunity to view the latest in management technologies up close. This year's Product Showcase features offerings from industry powerhouses such as Cisco Systems, Computer Associates, Intel, The Open Group, Oracle, SNIA, Symantec, VERITAS and WBEM Solutions.
Also at the conference, be sure to check out the interesting Birds of a Feather (BOF) discussions that follow Wednesday and Thursday's class schedule. Topics include Virtualization and Clustering, Application Quality of Service, Using the CIM Schema for Problem Determination and Trouble Ticketing, and Management Profiles.
In a related event, on Friday, June 20, the DMTF will be holding technical working group sessions at Cisco Systems. This face-to-face opportunity is designed to make participation in these key groups even easier. Attendance on Friday is a great opportunity for members to provide leadership and drive the DMTF's important standards forward, and for conference attendees to find out more about the working groups.
All of this is just what we can tell you about - there are lots of announcements and surprises in store for Global Management Conference attendees. Don't miss out! Just go to www.globalmanagementconference.com/home today for all the latest information, and we'll look forward to seeing you in San Jose!
