DMTF Technology Showcase at EMW

While you're at EMW, plan to attend the DMTF Technology Showcase, where we'll spotlight current work from the DMTF, SNIA, The Open Group and several vendors implementing standards from the DMTF and its Alliance Partners. You won't want to miss this leading-edge standards demonstration geared for both technology developers and end users of distributed management products. The robust showcase features 12 demonstrations in five standards technology areas:

  1. Industry CIM/WBEM Servers -- Developers -- Engineering architects looking for a CIM/WBEM Server with the core functionality of CIM Object Manager (CIMOM) can compare and contrast three leading projects. Servers and their associated tools included in the assessment are The Open Group's Pegasus Project, the OpenWBEM Project, and WBEM Solutions' J Server.

  2. SNIA - Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) - End Users and Developers - SNIA will demonstrate Storage Resource Management applications with the SMI-S standard, managing a heterogeneous SAN of storage arrays and switches that are located in the Colorado-based SNIA Technology Center. SMI-S is underway for ANSI and ISO approval, and currently more than 100 SNIA-CTP-certified products in the marketplace support the standard.

  3. SNIA Conformance Test Program (CTP) - End Users and Developers -- See the SNIA CTP test suite in action! Developers will learn what the program tests and how it works, and end users will discover why their RFPs should require the certification. The SNIA-CTP is an integral step toward bringing third-party standards conformance to the marketplace.

  4. DMTF CIM Certification Program - Developers -- Meet the test suite developers and find out how MOFs are tested, how to read printed test results, and how to provide requirements for new iterations of the test. The CIM certification program facilitates the development and market availability of MOFs that meet DMTF specification.

The fifth demonstration is unannounced, and will be unveiled at the conference, so don't miss out! Be sure to stop by the DMTF Technology Showcase at EMW to see the latest management technologies in action.
